We support the safeguarding principles set out by The Football Association and aim to ensure every child feels respected, valued and able to enjoy football.

What is Bullying? Bullying is behaviour that is repeated, Intended to hurt someone emotionally or physically, Often aimed at certain groups (e.g. race, religion, gender, ability)

Types of Bullying: Bullying can take many forms, including:

•Physical: Hitting, kicking, pushing

•Verbal: Name-calling, insults, threats

•Emotional: Excluding others, spreading rumours

•Online (Cyberbullying): Abuse via social media, messaging apps or gaming platforms

Expectations of Players

All players must:

•Treat teammates, opponents, coaches, and referees with respect

•Not engage in any form of bullying behaviour

•Report any concerns to a coach or trusted adult

Reporting Concerns

If bullying is suspected:

1.The concern should be raised with the Team Manager or Club Welfare Officer immediately/ASAP

2.The issue will be recorded and investigated

3.Parents/guardians of all involved will be informed

4.Appropriate action will be taken

All reports will be handled confidentially and sensitively.
 

Expectations of Parents/Guardians

Parents/guardians are expected to:

•Encourage positive behaviour and sportsmanship

•Report concerns appropriately

•Avoid confrontations with children, coaches, or officials

•Support the club in promoting a safe environment

Possible Actions

Depending on the situation, actions may include:

•Verbal warning

•Meeting with parents/guardians

•Temporary suspension from training or matches

•Removal from the club (in serious or repeated cases)

Our aim is always to support and educate first before any sanctions are imposed

We will take all bullying concerns seriously and commit to act promptly and fairly, supporting both the victim and the individual displaying bullying behaviour. We will work with parents/guardians to resolve issues and continue to promote a culture of respect and teamwork

Any issues should be reported to the Welfare Officer as soon as possible and within 24 hours at most
